it is possible to create an asset master from the requisition but I never saw any docu that said you can change an existing asset from here.
e.g. Processing Asset Acquisitions in Purchasing (FIAA/MM) - Asset Accounting (FI-AA) - SAP Library
the button in the account assignment tab just says "create", you would need to change the description manually in the asset maintenance transaction.
