Hello colleges, I would like to share with you a situation with a new name client in order to help me to bring the best offer.
SITUATION
This company is big according to ebit and clients (4mm). This company need a very specific solution to its problem. They need to replicate data to a SQL Server database, and just need a friendly frontend to modify, delete and include data. Today IT team make this work into the server manually any time Finance request the change. So, IT want to Finance make the work trough a new solution without IT hands in.
1. How many users? 12
2. This company is SAP client? yes, but with no SAP implementations
3. Is ERP Implemented? no, it is not, but could be in a next future
4. Why SAP and not MS or other solution? because company like SAP brand reputation and Security management, The requirement is simple but very important.
5. Must be tablet available? would be a Plus
6. Is data related to an ERP modules (fi, co, pm, etc)? no, and wont be
7. Any output different to Database record updates? yes, txt files according to requirement and related to data updated
STRATEGY
Considering is an strategic company for us, we have discusses possible solutions to this RFP. For one side, SAP Fiori and by the other side Webdympro. SAP Portal could manage the security access to the applications (fiori or webdympro). As the database SQL Server must connect to the applications developed by us in Fiori or Webdympro because we need a connection to it to retrieve, modify, delete and include data.
DOUBTS
I am not so sure if SAP Netweaver Platform need to be installed in the same server of SQL in order to be connected to the applications, considering we are talking about SAP Fiori and Webympro as an open architecture in a theory way.
QUESTIONS
1. What do you think as Sales/Tech specialist about the best way to implement this requirement?
2. What solutions (fiori, webdympro?, other)?
Remember, the client want a SAP successful implementation because they believes in SAP brand. Is not allowed an answer as: "if you are not SAP, forget it" We can say "If you are not SAP, we can bring you this solution using this components.......to your RFP"
