Can anyone of you please tell me right way to proceed with EP upgrade from 7.0 to 7.4 along with existing Custom WDJ applications.
When BASIS is upgrading then there are lots of issues being faced by the SUM tools initially in Configuration stage at Build Component Step due to Release versions 0 against custom component.
To move ahead I gave the assembled SCA files from 4 tracks in CMS. These files were placed in Download Directory used by SUM.
Post this the list shown below got updated with only one custom component related to SCA of one of the tracks. Which we removed and passed to the next step.
I don't know whether this was the right way or not but I comprehended the reason of this error was due to non availability of successor files for custom components.
Because for all SAP related components there was a release version shown.
Now again at Deploy Shadow Component at Pre-Processing Step there is an error being faced related to some missing container error.
Please suggest what to do as with one of SAP's communication they are suggesting to un-deploy all the custom components and regenerate fresh STACK File and move ahead.
Please clarify if we follow SAP's suggestions then how will the custom WDJ applications would be available in upgraded EP.
Also what is the right way to upgrade?
Just EP upgrade is okay but if we have many custom WDJ apps then how do we go about it.
There are many documents which says about WDJ Migration using NWDS 7.3. This is okay but my question is what will happen to NWDI where tracks are present. Will this be upgraded and contents lost ? Or whether the existing tracks can be accessed after upgrade ?
Post this to migrate the WDJ apps whether new tracks will be required?
Also one query is that the developments are stored in NWDI -CMS Tracks then what are the applications that are deployed and we see in from NWA?
Please Help as I'm unable to get a right path of overall upgrade of EP where custom WDJ exists.
